Ex-Keesler Credit Union Worker Faces Four Embezzlement Counts

GULFPORT, Miss.—A former employee of Keesler Federal Credit Union is scheduled to stand trial in October after being indicted on four counts of embezzlement involving funds she allegedly accessed through her position at the credit union, according to the Sun Herald.
The Sun Herald reported that Carnesha Renee Broomfield, 35, of Gulfport, was indicted by a grand jury in January and waived her arraignment on the charges this week. Prosecutors allege the offenses occurred between October and November 2024.
According to the indictment, Broomfield is accused in three counts of embezzling between $1,000 and $5,000 from separate accounts she had access to through her employment. A fourth count alleges she embezzled between $5,000 and $25,000 from another account tied to her work responsibilities.
Broomfield is being held in Harrison County on a total bond of $65,000. If convicted on the charges, she could face up to 25 years in prison, fines totaling thousands of dollars, or both, the Sun Herald reported.
