DCUC Military Advocacy Committee Welcomes NCUA Chairman John Crews For Special Address & Q&A

WASHINGTON--The Defense Credit Union Council announced that this month’s DCUC Military Advocacy Committee (MAC) meeting will feature a special opportunity for credit unions to hear from and engage directly with the newly appointed National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman, the Honorable John Crews.
DCUC noted the appearance will mark the first time Crews publicly addresses a credit union audience since his appointment as NCUA chairman.
The DCUC Military Advocacy Committee serves as a member-led forum for identifying, discussing, and advancing advocacy priorities that affect defense credit unions and the communities they serve. Across these regular meetings, MAC members help inform DCUC’s engagement with regulators, policymakers, and federal stakeholders on issues central to their credit union, including access, mission readiness, and the overall financial well-being when serving all who serve, the trade group noted.
"Crews’ appearance before DCUC’s Military Advocacy Committee marks a significant first for the credit union industry and for defense credit unions to engage directly with their federal regulator at the outset of this chairmanship. Following Chairman Crews’ special address, MAC members will have the opportunity to participate in a brief Q&A ahead of receiving key updates on DCUC’s recent advocacy efforts, ongoing discussions, and FY2026 Q4 priorities," DCUC explained.
“We sincerely appreciate Chairman Crews’ willingness and availability to meet directly with DCUC’s Military Advocacy Committee so early in his tenure,” said Anthony Hernandez, DCUC president/CEO, ret. U.S. Air Force colonel. “His participation reflects a meaningful commitment to transparency, access, and open dialogue with the credit unions serving communities across America, including our nation’s military, veterans, civil servants, and their families.”
