America’s Credit Unions Launches Cybersecurity Hub To Help Credit Unions Protect Members, Institutions

By CU Today Staff —

WASHINGTON— October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, but protecting 146 million Americans from fraud and scams is a year-round priority for credit unions, America’s Credit Unions noted.

To ensure credit unions are equipped with the tools and resources needed to effectively educate members and staff on prevention and response efforts, America’s Credit Unions has launched a Cybersecurity, Fraud, and Vendor Risk Resources hub.

“With fraud impacting millions of Americans and costing the U.S. billions of dollars each year, our focus is on supporting our membership with timely information and guidance to protect themselves and their members. This hub launch coincides with Cybersecurity Awareness Month, but this will be an ongoing effort by America’s Credit Unions to ensure credit unions’ operations are as effective and protective as possible against fraud and cybersecurity incidents,” said Meghan Small, chief communications and marketing officer.

The hub provides articles, toolkits, and education opportunities, separated into three focus areas:

Access the hub here. Beginning this week through the end of the year, ACU will highlight the different resources available through targeted emails and social media posts.

Member credit unions also have direct access to America’s Credit Unions’ Compliance Team for assistance with federal compliance issues—usually within one business day, the trade group said.
