NCUA Merges Conserved WeDevelopment FCU Into CommunityAmerica

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—NCUA has merged the $2.4-million WeDevelopment Federal Credit Union here into the $9-billion CommunityAmerica FCU, based in Lenexa, Kans., effective Sept. 1.
The agency placed WeDevelopment into conservatorship July 10 to address safety and soundness issues. Following further analysis and discussions with stakeholders, the NCUA determined the merger was in the best interest of the credit union’s members.
Chartered in 2022, WeDevelopment served 1,015 members across 57 underserved census tracts in Jackson County, Mo. CommunityAmerica reported 594,689 members in its most recent Call Report.
