10 America’s Credit Unions PAC-Backed Candidates Advance In Tuesday Primaries

WASHINGTON— In primary elections across four states Tuesday, 10 Congressional candidates backed by America’s Credit Unions PAC successfully won their party nomination and advanced to November’s General Election. In addition, Rep. Young Kim (R-CA), who America’s Credit Unions PAC supported with an independent expenditure in direct mail and digital ads, advanced to the general election in a newly drawn district.
“This week’s primary elections saw another slate of credit union champions win their nomination and advance to the November general election. Electing a pro-credit union Congress is critical to the advancement of the credit union movement. These champions understand the impact credit unions bring to 146 million Americans and work to secure policies that enhance that impact," stated America’s Credit Unions’ Head of Political Affairs Trey Hawkins. "This is why our PAC provides early and substantial support to ensure that credit union priorities are heard in the halls of Capitol Hill. America’s Credit Unions PAC is proud to support these champions and will continue to work to not just secure their return to Congress but expand our coalition even further.”
America’s Credit Unions’ PAC-supported candidates won in Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, and South Carolina. This includes current South Carolina State Sen. Wes Climer, R, who won the Republican nomination for the open seat in the fifth Congressional District. Rep. Ralph Norman, who currently holds that seat, is running for governor.
