By CU Today Staff —

BUCKSPORT, Maine—Seaboard Federal Credit Union President/CEO Kyle Casburn will retire May 31, 2027, concluding a 31-year tenure during which the credit union grew from $42 million to $248 million in assets, the CU reported.

Casburn joined Seaboard FCU in March 1995 and has led the credit union through two community charter conversions, digital transformations and periods that included the Great Recession, the closure of the Bucksport paper mill and the COVID-19 pandemic. The credit union currently has more than 14,000 members, 38 employees and offices in Bucksport, Ellsworth and Hermon.

"Serving as CEO for the past 31 years has been the greatest honor of my professional life," said Casburn. "When I first joined, our goals were simple: to improve operations while providing our members with financial benefits and security. I am incredibly proud of how we stayed true to that mission while navigating a changing financial landscape. The heart and soul of this credit union has always been its people, and I am profoundly grateful to our Board and dedicated staff for their support."

"Kyle played a pivotal role in shaping Seaboard Federal Credit Union into the strong, resilient organization it is today," Board Chairman Tony Manzo said. "His leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to our employees and members have positioned us for long-term success. On behalf of the board, our employees, and our members, we are deeply grateful for Kyle’s decades of outstanding service and look forward to working with him to create a seamless transition."

The board has selected Shanley Search Partners to evaluate internal and external candidates to succeed Casburn.
