WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) is expanding its regulatory advocacy role with Elizabeth Eurgubian, Partner at Atlas Advocacy, adding new compliance-focused services designed to help DCUC members more easily understand and manage regulatory and compliance issues.
“Regulatory and compliance demands continue to grow more complex for credit unions, and DCUC is committed to ensuring our members have the support and insight they need to navigate those challenges,” states Anthony Hernandez, DCUC President/CEO, Ret. U.S. Air Force Colonel. “By expanding our regulatory advocacy role with Elizabeth and Atlas Advocacy, we are adding practical services that will help our members manage compliance more efficiently and dedicate more energy to member services.” “I'm proud to be able to contribute to the great work of DCUC. Regulatory compliance is critical to the health and well-being of credit unions and the system, and it is a top priority for DCUC,” says Eurgubian. “This expansion strengthens DCUC’s ability to advocate on regulatory issues while also delivering direct, actionable support to our members,” adds Jason Stverak, DCUC Chief Advocacy Officer. “With Elizabeth’s expertise, DCUC members will have access to on-call compliance support for their compliance inquiries and quarterly regulatory webinars focused on upcoming regulatory and compliance issues. These services will make it easier for members to stay informed, manage compliance, and remain focused on serving their members.” Eurgubian brings extensive experience in financial services policy. She previously served as Director of the Office of External Affairs and Communications at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and as Policy Advisor to former Chairman Todd Harper. Prior to her NCUA service, she was Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Regulatory Affairs at the Credit Union National Association, now America’s Credit Unions. Her career also includes serving as a regulatory attorney for the Independent Community Bankers of America, in-house counsel to Sallie Mae, Inc., and as an attorney with the Federal Reserve. Through this partnership, DCUC reaffirms its commitment to expanding regulatory advocacy and delivering practical resources that support credit unions, their members, and the communities they serve.
