Regulatory Relief Tops Agenda As NCUA’s Crews Meets With America’s Credit Unions Leaders

By CU Today Staff —

WASHINGTON--The first official meeting between NCUA Chairman John Crews and America’s Credit Unions leaders Tuesday largely focused on agency actions the NCUA can take to provide regulatory relief for credit unions, ACU reported.

President/CEO Scott Simpson, Chief Advocacy Officer Kathleen Coulombe, Senior Vice President of Advocacy Greg Mesack, Head of Regulatory Advocacy James Akin, and Regulatory Advocacy Senior Counsel Luke Martone met at the agency’s headquarters with Crews.

Crews made his first public remarks as NCUA chair at last month’s Congressional Caucus, touching on many of these same topics. He emphasized that the Deregulation Project will continue under his tenure, ACU said.

America’s Credit Unions added that it remains engaged with NCUA on finalizing current proposals and continuing regulatory relief.
