Vizo Conference Turns Focus To Rates, Economy, Investment Strategy

By CU Today Staff —

ASHEVILLE, N.C.—Interest rates, the economic outlook and investment strategy moved to center stage Thursday as Vizo Financial’s 2026 Financial Conference entered its second day at the Omni Grove Park Inn.

Morning sessions examined interest-rate strategy, including monetary policy and the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet, along with the broader economy and what current conditions could mean for credit unions going forward. Attendees also explored ways to identify market opportunities and strengthen investment portfolio management. The sessions followed an opening day that focused on stablecoins, asset-liability management assumptions, emerging default risk, balance-sheet strategies and the growing role of AI in credit unions.

Following the morning program and lunch, attendees shifted from the classroom to networking activities that included golf, spa treatments, a guided hike to Catawba Falls and a tour of the Biltmore Estate. The second day concluded with a reception and dinner at the Omni Grove Park Inn’s Seely Pavilion.

The three-day conference, Vizo Financial’s largest annual event, concludes Friday.
