PAHO/WHO FCU To Rebrand As Bienestar Federal Credit Union

WASHINGTON— PAHO/WHO FCU will change its name to Bienestar Federal Credit Union effective Sept. 1, the CU announced, saying the new brand better reflects its longstanding focus on financial wellness and its expanded field of membership beyond its historical ties to the Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization.
The $322-million credit union said the new name is intended to celebrate its commitment to members' financial well-being while recognizing that its membership has grown to include employees from healthcare, education and public service organizations throughout the region. The credit union, founded in 1949, serves more than 7,100 members.
"For generations, financial wellness has been at the heart of who we are and the people we serve," CEO Miguel Boluda Jr. said in a statement. "Our new name honors our PAHO/WHO roots, reaffirms our mission and more clearly reflects the broader community we proudly serve today. We're excited about this next chapter and grateful to have our members with us on this journey."
Beginning Sept. 1, the Bienestar Federal Credit Union name will be rolled out across the organization's website, signage, communications and branding materials.
