Longtime Reliant CEO Pamela Heald To Retire in January
By CU Today Staff —
SODUS, N.Y.—Pamela Heald, who has spent more than 34 years with Reliant Community Federal Credit Union and has served as president and CEO since 2007, will retire in January 2027, the credit union announced. Reliant said its board has launched a national search for her successor and expects to make a selection late this year.
According to Reliant, Heald held a series of positions before becoming CEO, including vice president of lending and branch services, vice president of branch development, branch development manager, branch manager and asset recovery supervisor. During her tenure as CEO, Reliant changed its name from WCTA Federal Credit Union, expanded digital services and its branch network, and tripled in size to approximately $800 million in assets and 10 branches.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire organization, we extend our sincere appreciation for Pamela’s invaluable contributions to Reliant Credit Union as well as the communities we serve, and we wish her a happy and healthy retirement,” board Chair Jane Slack said in the credit union's announcement.
Heald will remain president and CEO during the search and transition.
Heald was recognized earlier this year by the New York Credit Union Association with its Outstanding Professional Award at EXCEL 26. In announcing the honor, NYCUA said Heald joined Reliant in 1992 and became CEO in 2007, and cited the credit union's branch expansion, 2022 brand refresh and membership growth to more than 47,000 under her leadership. Reliant serves members in Monroe, Ontario and Wayne counties in New York.
