Trailhead CU Teller Helps Police Capture Alleged Robber Within Hour

PORTLAND, Ore.—Quick thinking by a teller at Trailhead Credit Union here helped police quickly track down and arrest a suspected robber Wednesday after she slipped a GPS tracking device into more than $4,000 in cash handed over during the holdup, according to KOIN.
KOIN reported that 41-year-old Boldragon Plexico was arrested June 17, less than an hour after authorities say he robbed a branch of Trailhead Credit Union located at 221 N.W. Second Ave. Court documents cited by KOIN state Plexico entered the credit union shortly after 2 p.m. and announced, “Alright listen up, this is a robbery.”
According to KOIN, Plexico instructed the teller to hand over “everything 20s and up” and warned, “do this so no one gets hurt.” Investigators said he left the branch with more than $4,000 in cash. Unbeknownst to him, the teller included a GPS tracking device with the money.
KOIN reported that police used location updates from the GPS tracker while searching the area. At approximately 2:45 p.m., officers spotted a man matching the suspect’s description walking in a parking lot near 1699 S.E. Water Ave., where the tracker indicated the stolen money was located.
Police said Plexico complied with officers and was taken into custody after they discovered the cash inside a backpack he was carrying, according to KOIN. The station also reported that Plexico previously pleaded guilty in Nevada in 2023 to battery with intent to commit burglary and was granted parole in March, citing records from the Nevada Department of Corrections and prior reporting by the Fallon Post.
