Q2 Rolls Out AI Assistant To Help Credit Union Staff Resolve Member Issues Faster
By CU Today Staff —
AUSTIN, Texas—Q2 Holdings has launched Q2 Assistant, an artificial intelligence platform embedded across its digital banking products that the company says is designed to help banks and credit unions streamline support operations and manage growing volumes of digital banking interactions.
The new platform provides a conversational interface that allows financial institution employees to access information and complete tasks across multiple Q2 applications without switching systems. Q2 said the technology is built with governance and compliance controls designed for regulated financial institutions, including data isolation, encryption, audit logging and human oversight of consequential actions.
“Banks and credit unions don’t need more disconnected AI tools. They need intelligence embedded where work already happens,” said Q2 CTO Adam Blue. “Q2 Assistant builds on more than two decades of financial institution workflow expertise to help teams move faster, resolve issues more efficiently, and deliver stronger customer experiences within their trusted Q2 platform environment.”
The first application available through Q2 Assistant is a Customer Care Agent designed for support teams using Q2’s digital banking platform. According to the company, the tool can help staff investigate and resolve common member and customer issues such as login problems, password resets, transaction inquiries and user activity reviews. Q2 said early pilot participants included Stanford Federal Credit Union and VeraBank. Brian Xie, vice president of digital strategy at Stanford Federal Credit Union, said one support request that previously required more than two hours to resolve was completed in less than a minute using the platform.
The launch comes as credit unions and banks continue exploring ways to use AI to improve efficiency while maintaining regulatory controls around data security and compliance. Q2 said additional AI agents focused on areas such as fraud operations and relationship pricing workflows are currently under development and expected to be introduced during 2026.
